CODE OF CONDUCT FORROZIM BOM & BRAZILIAN WOMEN’S GROUP IN BELGIUM
Forrozim Bom and the Brazilian Women’s Group in Belgium believe that dance, culture, and human connection can transform lives. Our activities aim to promote inclusion, diversity, respect, and cultural exchange. This Code of Conduct applies to all students, teachers, collaborators, and visitors during classes, events, rehearsals, performances, or any activity organized by one or both associations.
1. Respect and Inclusion
Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, nationality, race, ethnicity, age, body type, or physical ability.
Any discriminatory, offensive, invasive, or inappropriate behavior that causes discomfort to others will not be tolerated.
2. Communication and Consent
Forró is a partner dance, and physical contact is natural. However, respecting personal boundaries and obtaining consent is essential.
Everyone has the right to refuse an invitation to dance, to choose the role they feel most comfortable with (leader/follower), or to stop a dance at any time without providing a justification.
Comments about physical appearance, body, or performance should be avoided unless they are explicitly requested and given respectfully.
3. Healthy Interaction
Foster a light, collaborative, and safe environment with peers, teachers, and organizers.
Be punctual, avoid excessive phone use during classes, and respect the learning pace of others.
Wear clean, comfortable clothing and maintain personal hygiene (especially in partner dance settings).
4. Safety and Care
Respect your body’s limits and inform the teacher if you experience any pain or discomfort.
The use of substances that alter consciousness before or during classes is not permitted.
Take care of materials, equipment, and spaces used during activities.
5. Harassment-Free Space
Any physical, verbal, or psychological harassment will be treated seriously and may result in warnings, suspension, or exclusion from activities, without refund.
Incidents should be reported directly to the coordination team by email or in person.
6. Use of Image
Photos and videos taken during activities may be used for project promotion, unless the participant expresses their refusal in writing.
7. Commitment to Culture
We value forró as an expression of Brazilian culture and encourage all participants to engage with it respectfully and openly, recognizing its roots, diversity, and history.
8. Commitment to Enrollment
By confirming enrollment in a free 5-class course (such as the Arretadas Project), the student acknowledges the commitment to attend all scheduled classes.
If the student is absent without prior notice or without an accepted justification, her name will be recorded in the databases of both associations (Forrozim Bom and the Brazilian Women’s Group in Belgium).
This record will result in a temporary restriction from participating in free courses organized by either association.
Declaration of Agreement
By enrolling, you declare that you have read, understood, and accepted this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with the rules may result in warnings, suspension, or exclusion from activities.
