Code of Conduct / Forrozim Bom

Forrozim Bom is more than just a dance school: it is a space for community, inclusion, diversity, and respect. This Code of Conduct applies to all students, teachers, collaborators, and visitors during classes, events, rehearsals, performances, or any other activity related to the school.

1. Respect and Inclusion
Everyone is welcome, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, nationality, race, ethnicity, age, body type, or physical ability.
Any discriminatory, offensive, invasive behavior, or conduct that causes discomfort to others will not be tolerated.

2. Communication and Consent
Forró is a partner dance, and physical contact is natural. However, respecting personal boundaries and obtaining consent are essential.
Everyone has the right to decline an invitation to dance, to dance in the role they feel most comfortable with (leader/follower), or to stop a dance at any time if they feel uncomfortable—without needing to justify their decision.
Comments about physical appearance, body, or performance should be avoided unless they are explicitly requested and made respectfully.

3. Healthy Coexistence
Foster a light, collaborative, and safe atmosphere with peers, teachers, and organizers.
Arrive on time, avoid excessive use of mobile phones during classes, and respect the learning pace of others.
Wear clean, comfortable clothing and maintain good personal hygiene (especially important in partner dancing).

4. Safety and Care
Respect your body’s limits and inform the teacher of any pain or discomfort.
The use of substances that alter consciousness is not allowed before or during classes.
Take care of the materials, equipment, and spaces provided.

5. Harassment-Free Space
Any physical, verbal, or psychological harassment will be treated seriously and may result in a warning, suspension, or expulsion from the school, without refund.
Incidents should be reported directly to the school’s coordination team by email (forrozimbombr@gmail.com) or in person.

6. Use of Image
Photos and videos taken during activities may be used to promote the project, unless the person expressly declines in writing.

7. Commitment to Culture
We value forró as a Brazilian cultural expression. We encourage all participants to engage respectfully and openly, recognizing its roots, diversity, and history.

Declaration of Agreement
By enrolling in Forrozim Bom, you declare that you have read, understood, and accepted this Code of Conduct. Failure to comply with the rules may result in warnings or expulsion from the school.
